Civil Engineering
We provide a broad range of highways and facilities management related civil engineering services including site clearance, earthworks, surface water drainage, foundation, kerbing, carriageway, footway, car parking, hard & soft landscaping, external building fabric repairs, highway bridge and watercourse culvert construction and maintenance for our various local authority, trunk road and facilities management clients.
WI & A Gilbert have established NHSS 16 compliant procedures for tarmac surfacing works within our existing ISO 9001 quality management system and are in the process of working toward achieving full NHSS 16 accreditation in the very near future.
Infrastructure Fencing
As a National Highways Sector Scheme 2A accredited contractor, we can deliver a broad range of high-quality infrastructure fencing solutions, including weldmesh, chain link, metal palisade, pedestrian guardrail, timber palisade, timber post & rail and timber post & wire fencing on both highways and facilities projects.
Vehicle Restraint Systems
Being a National Highways Sector Scheme 10B accredited contractor since 1991, we have an extensive track record of delivering the full range of EN 1317 approved vehicle restraint solutions, including installation and repair of both legacy and current highway safety fencing and also vehicle and pedestrian parapets on bridges.
Traffic Management
Being a National Highways Sector Scheme 12A & 12D accredited traffic management provider since 1991, we have an extensive track record of delivering a broad range of traffic management solutions on urban and high-speed road locations in support of both our inhouse projects and also as a separate stand-alone service to our various public highway and private sector clients.
Streetscapes
As a National Highways Sector Scheme 30 accredited contractor, we can deliver a broad range of high-quality urban realm and streetscaping solutions, including installation, repair and maintenance of rigid and flexible modular paving including both man-made and natural stone pavers, setts, flagstones, slabs, edging kerbs and linear drainage channels via our extensive team of Street Works Qualification Registered supervisors and operatives.
Stonemasonry
Our inhouse team of time-served stonemasons are able to provide a high-quality range of stonemasonry construction and repair services on both highway structures (retaining walls, freestanding walls, bridges and culverts) and on buildings. We have experience of working on both unlisted and listed structures and of working with various stone finishes from uncoursed random rubble masonry walling to coursed ashlar masonry, including inhouse stone cutting and surface dressing as required. We also have extensive experience in carrying out sensitive repair work using both natural stone indents and ‘Lithomex’ stone mortar repairs.
